love

Love is a many petalled flower.
It breathes new life into older stems.
It grows bridges across rivers
and leads us into other rivers to splash, play, immerse.

Love is ferocious.
It is bigger than the two of us.
It soothes balm into old wounds, heals them.
Reveals pearly pink new skin, vulnerable, ready for love.

Love grows.
It makes me all that I am.
It is the tree which holds me, grows me closer to the clouds, the stars, the sky.
It is the sum of us, the equation, the intangible maths and science of us.

Love amazes.
When we grow into what we first saw in each other.
When we become.
And we do so, together.
Yes, love is all around.

I was born 22 years ago today

Today.


Big day.
Big beautiful day.
Was treasured, was gifted upon, shared stories.
Came home, and felt overwhelmed.
Lay in bed, wallowing in the almost over~ness,
And I closed my eyes,
and suddenly I had a vision
of a baby being born.
Me.
Me being born.
22 years ago.
I went through that, to get here.

Two times today, two seperate people said:
Thank you for being born, so you could be right here, right now.

And it made me think....
It was all a choice wasn't it?
To be right here, right now.
How truly remarkable.

What it is like to be growing into myself.

~ Notes on the eve of my 22nd birthday ~

Beauty. Immense beauty.
My eyes opening to it.
Becoming all the things I wanted to be; wanted to do.
My art, my writing, my dreams, awakening and being.
The aching, the believing, the intense light of becoming.
Listening to the girl, the goddess inside me ~ she whispers ~
Let's dance; let's frolic naked in the rain, let us lick the rain from our palms.
Let's love passionately, and be ourselves with reckless abandon.
Let's let a dog love us and shower us with affection.
Let us read poetry aloud, and sing in the shower, in the kitchen, everywhere.
Let's be us!
And I say YES!
